Annie Conway

“I am excited to join the UML Dining team as the Sustainability Coordinator this fall!” Annie is joining the UML team after coming off of a year long AmeriCorps term serving at Farm Fresh RI in Providence, RI. During her time at FFRI, she helped manage farmers markets, plan events, coordinate outreach, assist educators during programming events, and lastly ensure access to SNAP and Bonus Bucks Benefits. Her time was split working within the community education and food access teams. Before her time in Rhode Island, she attended Bates College and graduated in 2023 with a BA in Environmental Studies. During her senior year she wrote a comparative thesis on farmers markets located in mill towns throughout New England and had portions of the thesis were written about both Farm Fresh RI and Mill City Grows!

“As I begin working with the UML Dining, I am excited to facilitate partnerships with Mill City Grows, UML Sustainability, and Aramark's on site team. I hope to use my education and work experience to increase the amount of local produce being served in dining halls across campus. I am excited for students to get a "taste of Lowell" at the benefit of New England Farmers. I also look forward to working towards incorporating research from the Menus of Change University Research Collaborative into the work we do at UML Dining. Lastly, I am excited to hear from the student body about what measures, in regards to sustainability, students want to see.”
